| Walk details |
There are 2 routes, 20 & 30 miles. They are common to CP2, Tilford but then diverge. You may decide at Tilford to change routes. Those reaching CP2 after 1230 MUST change to the 20 mile route. For both routes, certificates will be awarded at finish. Being a 'winter' event the Punchbowl Marathon can be subject to the vagrancies of winter weather. Should the need arise then any changes to the event will be emailed to you prior to the event. |
| Checkpoints |
There are 4 checkpoints along the route providing drinks and light refreshments - sandwiches, fruit & rice, biscuits, tea & squash - and a friendly welcome!! |
| Route |
Devised and written by Dave Challenger. Provide us with a legible email address on your entry form and we will email you a route description and final details OR include a SAE with your entry and these will be posted to you (10 days before the event). As indicated on the entry form please mark your (large) envelope clearly with 'ROUTE'
Runners should note that this event is not a race and it does not follow a marked route. It is a cross country event open to walkers, runners & joggers in which you need to follow a detailed route description. If you happen to go wrong then you might well need map-reading skills to get yourself back on route. |
| Start |
0730 - 0800 walkers. 0830 - 0900 joggers & runners.
|
| Finish |
all to finish by 1800 (it gets dark by about 1700) |
| Entry Fee |
£5.00 (£7.00 for non-LDWA members). Note that there will be an event limit of 300. No entries on the day - so do make sure you get your entry in early to avoid disappointment.
